【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestheproceduretobefollowedbyaRegistrationAuthorityinpreparing,maintainingandpublishinganInternationalRegisterofnumericidentifiersallocatedtoalgorithmsforthelosslesscompressionofdata,excludingcryptographicalgorithms.ForthepurposeofthisInternationalStandard,analgorithmisasetofrulesforthetransformationofthecodedrepresentationofdatafromoneformtoanother,whichallowsthelosslessrestitutionoftheoriginalform.AnidentifierregisteredinaccordancewiththisInternationalStandardservesasanidentificationofthealgorithmassociatedwithitintheRegister.Apartfromsuchidentification,registrationdoesnotaffectthestatusofthealgorithmconcerned.Thus,theregistrationproceduremustbeclearlydistinguishedfromthestandardizationprocess.
